Youth Leadership

LifeWorks is a program that aims to empower youth leadership. We offer many opportunities for youth to become leaders. Read about some of the ways you can get involved at LifeWorks. If any of the below areas interest you, contact us at lifeworks@lalgbtcenter.org or call (323) 860-7373.

BECOME A PEER MENTOR
Peer Mentors are just what they sound like – peers available to help out others! Peer Mentors welcome new members, hang out with the other youth, and assist the staff.

JOINING THE MENTORING NIGHT PLANNING COMMITTEE
Every Wednesday evening, Lifeworks hosts a Mentoring Night – dinner, Check-Ins (What's happening with you?), and social time. Mentoring Night topics vary from presentations by guest speakers to hands-on activities to community building. If you are interested in helping plan activities, contact us.

JOINING THE LIFEOUT PLANNING COMMITTEE
LifeWorks hosts field-trips every month, and we'd love your input for these events! Previous LifeOut events have included beach trips, ice skating, bowling, theatre, hiking trips, and more.

COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK (CAN)
LifeWorks Community Action Network (CAN) is a group of youth leaders and staff that meet weekly to develop the skills to build our community and move our campaign forward.
