Returning mentor Chiedu Egbuniwe has written and directed short films which have screened in festivals around the world and have been broadcast in the U.S. and Canada. He has been selected for Outfest's Screenwriting Lab, as well as Film Independent's Project:Involve. He is very honored to be involved with Outset.






MentorJENN GARRISON - OutSet Mentor

Jenn Garrison's films have played in over 100 international film festivals (Outfest included) winning top awards: a college EMMY, a Student Academy Award nomination, the "Jury Prize" at the Bologna International Women's Film Festival, the "Audience Award" at the Night Gallery Film Festival, and a Members Choice award at PlanetOUT.com. Jenn was also selected as one of Film Independent's "Project:Involve" fellows. Through that fellowship, Jenn's films have been featured in "Vanity Fair" and showcased in the "W Hotels" internationally. Jenn's work was also sponsored by "Banana Republic" and "NBC/Universal" studios. Jenn is currently the Senior Producer at Sony Pictures Television's Creative Services department.

Returning mentors and producing partners, Deondray and Quincy, have produced, written, directed, and even acted their way all over town. They are the creators and executive producers for the TV series "The DL Chronicles" and produce for reality shows "The Sing-Off" and "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew."



EgbuniweAUGIE ROBELS - OutSet Mentor

Augie Robles comes off a ten year stint editing C.S.I: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS Productions/ Jerry Brukheimer TV) and makes his move into independent filmmaking with the release of his short film THE ROOKIE AND THE RUNNER which premiered at Frameline36 San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. In addition to his work in commercial television, Augie edited the independent feature MOSQUITA Y MARI with director Aurora Guerrero, official selection for the Sundance Film Festival 2012. And most recently he edited a web series for Crackle.com and Sony Television, THE UNKNOWN with director Martha Coolidge. He's also edited several independent short films. He cut Aurora Guerrero's short films, PURA LENGUA (Official Sundance selection 2005) and VIERNES GIRL (HBO/ New York International Latino Film Festival 2006), and Dino Dinco's short film EL ABUELO (2008). He edited an experimental short film for the Arts Catalyst project, and chimpanzee demographic, in Rachel Mayeri's PRIMATE CINEMA: APES AS FAMILY (2011).

Originally from Sacramento, CA he became involved in theater and filmmaking in the creative writing classes of playwright Cherrie Moraga. After college he directed and produced three documentaries that screened at film festivals at home and abroad. He received a letter of recognition form the City of San Francisco in 1995 for !VIVA 16!, a short documentary about the fading historic gay Latino enclave on 16th Street in San Francisco's Mission District. Augie Robles is a graduate of both the American Film Institute, where he was a directing fellow class of 1995, and the University of California at Berkeley 1990.

Mike Rose has been writing and performing sketch comedy for several years in theaters all over Los Angeles including The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade. Mike is the creator of the hit webseries Planet Unicorn which has been featured on FOX News, G4's Attack of the Show, Best Week Ever, OUTFEST and magazines including OUT, HX, IN, TimeOut New York and was voted the #7 Funniest internet Video in 2007 by New York Magazine. Planet Unicorn also won the OMFG Internet Award on LOGO'S NewNowNext Awards for which Mike wrote and produced a Planet Unicorn opening segment. Mike also created the very popular webseries STOP IT, a parody of A&E's Intervention and the gay cop comedy, Fagney&Gaycey. Mike also wrote, produced, directed and appeared in A Gaythering Storm for funnyordie.com starring Jane Lynch, George Takei, Alicia Silverstone, Lance Bass, Sarah Chalke and others. A Gaythering Storm was nominated for a Human Rights Campaign award. Many of Mike's films, including his most recent short film - Couples Therapy, have been official selections at OUTFEST - The Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival and FUSION – The Los Angeles LGBT Filmmakers of Color Film Festival for the past 4 years. Mike was also awarded Best Short for Couples Therapy and Best Actor at NBC

ShortCuts Festival earning him a one year talent holding deal and a blind script deal with NBC/Universal. Mike is currently creating internet content for Broadway video.
